From October 23 to 25, the season finale of the TCR China Championship came to a close at the Zhejiang International Circuit. Teamwork Motorsport delivered an exceptional performance at this round. Driven by Sharp Strategy and Execution, Li Guanghua stood on the podium in both rounds, capturing his first victory of the season in Race 2. Meanwhile, his teammate Martin Foo secured third place in the Race 1 Rookie Cup.
After a season of fierce competition, Martin Foo claimed third place in the Rookie Class Drivers’ Championship, while Li Guanghua finished fourth overall—right behind Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport’s driver David Zhu, Zhang Zhiqiang, and Sunny Wong—ensuring a sweep of the top four positions for the Lynk & Co 03+ TCR. Teamwork Motorsport also sealed the Club Cup Teams’ Championship, bringing a perfect close to this season’s journey with outstanding results.
Teamwork Motorsport secures pole position in Qualifying and a double podium finish in Race 1
Fog and rain threw an extra curveball at the competitors this weekend, as low visibility and a slick track pushed drivers’ reflexes and car control to the limit. Leveraging his deep racing expertise, Li Guanghua drove the Lynk & Co 03+ TCR race car to clock the fastest lap time of 1:45.781 in qualifying, successfully capturing pole position. Teammate Martin Foo also performed steadily, finishing qualifying in fifth place and securing a favorable starting position for Race 1.
Race 1 started behind the safety car. Starting from pole position, Li Guanghua quickly got into his pace and widened the gap to the drivers behind him in the first half. However, a later safety car deployment wiped out his advantage, reigniting the battle up front.
After the race resumed, Li Guanghua maintained his leading position and engaged in fierce battles with the cars behind him. Following intense contention, he ultimately crossed the finish line in second, taking home the runner-up trophy. Martin Foo advanced steadily and ended up with third place in the Rookie Cup, adding another trophy to Teamwork Motorsport’s tally.
Li Guanghua wins through strategy with a precise analysis of track conditions
Even with the track still slick in Race 2, improving weather turned tire choice into the deciding factor for how the race unfolded. Starting from tenth place, Li Guanghua made the decision to race on slick tires. In the first half of the race, before the grip of the slick tires could fully manifest on the damp track, he maintained a steady pace and patiently looked for overtaking opportunities within the mid-field pack. His teammate Martin Foo suffered car damage during the intense battles and was forced to retire from the race.
By mid-race, the slick tire began to pay off. Li Guanghua’s lap times continued to improve as he swiftly launched a charge toward the lead pack. It took him only five laps to climb from the mid-field group into the top three. On lap 16, he successfully advanced to first overall through a precise crossover move, holding onto the lead all the way to the finish line to claim the Race 2 overall victory.
From pole position to consecutive podium finishes across both rounds, Li Guanghua showcased exceptional judgment and strategic execution during this weekend: “Before Race 2, I analyzed a lot of racing data and weather in advance, and ultimately decided to use slick tires. Although it was a bit of a struggle in the first half, the performance advantage of the slick tires showed in the second half. Facts proved that my strategy worked and helped me successfully secure the championship.”
Looking back at the 2026 season, Teamwork Motorsport’s success on the track was a result of reliable drivers, teamwork, and ongoing technical development. The successful conclusion at the Zhejiang round also enabled Teamwork Motorsport to capture the 2026 Club Cup Teams’ Championship. This honor embodies the hard work and dedication of the entire season and will serve as vital momentum for the team as it steps into the new season.
As the season comes to a close, new challenges are about to begin. Teamwork Motorsport will continue to strive for more breakthroughs on the track with top-tier engineering expertise and an unwavering pursuit to win.
