Teamwork Motorsport prepares to commence second half of 2016 CTCC at Guangdong

After a strong weekend in the TCR Asia Series in Shanghai, Teamwork Motorsport now enters the second half of its 2016 SINOPEC LUBRICANTS China Touring Car Championship (CTCC) programme at the Guangdong International Circuit (27-28 August).

Reflecting on the first four rounds of the 2016 CTCC season, the application of GUSTO Technik’s official chassis proved to be a success – seven different winners in eight rounds a clear demonstration of the championship’s competitiveness.

No one team or driver has been able to dominate and Teamwork Motorsport, a privateer team, has been able to achieve multiple pole positions and front row starts and a race win in Zhuhai with Alex Hui, who holds fifth in the overall championship standings with a mathematical chance of winning the Drivers’ title.

Sunny Wong, on the other hand, can’t take too many positives from the first half of the season. Technical issues caused multiple DNFs and the Hong Kong driver will focus on maximising his and his Citroen C-Elysee’s performance to contribute points towards the privateer championship, in which Teamwork Motorsport has a healthy lead.

The fifth leg of the CTCC season will take place at the Guangdong International Circuit (GIC), the site of Teamwork Motorsport’s headquarters, and there are high expectations for the forthcoming weekend on its “home court”.

A live stream will be available on raceday on the official www.ctcc.com.cn website.
