The Geely Super Cup PRO 2025 season kicked off at Chengdu Tianfu International Circuit, where Teamwork Motorsport secure a podium finish and consistent results. Car No. 95 driven by YANG Haoyu & YAN Hancheng clinched the third place in Race 1, while Martin FOO (Car No. 94) completed all three races with solid performances.
Qualifying
Friday’s qualifying session was impacted by rain, creating challenging track conditions for all drivers. YANG Haoyu, leveraging his extensive racing experience, partnered with the talented YAN Hancheng from South China. Together, the duo in Car No. 95 secured 10th place overall. Meanwhile, Martin FOO in the sister car took P15 in the Qualifying.
Race 1
Saturday’s Race 1 kicked off on a wet track, presenting a true test of drivers’ car control. YANG Haoyu, starting from 9th in Car No. 95, executed a stunning start to 6th by the end of Lap 1. Taking full advantage of the Safety Car, he surged into the top three after the restart. Although a misstep cost him some positions, YANG overtook rivals in the final laps to take 3rd overall.
Commencing the race from P14 in Car No. 94, Martin FOO demonstrated considerable resilience. Following a Safety Car period, he adeptly maneuvered his way up to eighth place. In a fiercely competitive race, he continued his strong performance to take a sixth-place finish.
Race 2
In the second wet race, YAN Hancheng in Car No. 95 started 10th but dropped to 17th early on. He rallied back strategically during a Safety Car period, recovering to 9th on the final result.
Martin FOO, starting 15th in Car No. 94, briefly reached 10th but later slipped to 9th. A post-race time penalty adjusted his result to 11th.
Race 3
The final round showcased a 45-minute endurance race. YANG Haoyu started from ninth in Car No. 95, quickly advancing to 7th by Lap 1 before handing over to YAN Hancheng. The duo ultimately finished in 12th place after the intense battles.
Martin FOO took on the endurance challenge solo in Car No. 94, starting from 14th position and advancing into the top 10. He was against both battles on track and physical exhaustion, finishing 11th overall at the end.
Teamwork Motorsport concluded the Chengdu season-opener with a podium finish, showcasing relentless spirit across all three races and improving driver form race by race. The team looks ahead to delivering better performances in the next Geely Super Cup PRO race, which will take place at the Zhejiang International Circuit from June 27th to 29th, running concurrently with the TCR China Championship.
