The 2025 Geely Super Cup PRO concluded its penultimate round at Ningbo International Speedpark, where Teamwork Motorsport delivered a standout team performance. The weekend was highlighted by Martin FOO’s maiden victory in the series, a well-deserved triumph for the driver who converted Pole-to-Win. While YANG Haoyu, making a triumphant return after missing one round, claimed pole position ahead of Race 1 and went on to finish second in the opening race, capping a strong comeback weekend.
Qualifying
At the familiar Ningbo International Speedpark, Teamwork Motorsport shone in qualifying. Team ace YANG Haoyu claimed pole with the overall fastest lap of 2:07.197, while Martin FOO secured P8 with a personal best time of 2:08.052. The duo’s commanding showings have positioned Teamwork Motorsport perfectly to tackle the weekend’s upcoming challenges
Race 1
Teamwork Motorsport battled through light rain in Saturday’s Race 1 at Ningbo International Speedpark. Pole-sitter YANG Haoyu faced immediate adversity, spinning off-track after a first-lap collision and dropping outside the top 10. Displaying impressive resilience, he charged back through the field to reclaim a podium position. In a nail-biting final lap, YANG defended fiercely to secure second place by a mere 0.107 seconds.
Teammate Martin FOO, starting P8, navigated race-long collision disruptions with aggressive racing, clinching tenth place to round out the team’s points finish.
Race 2
Race 2 saw persistent rain challenge the field. YANG Haoyu, despite being boxed in at the start, fought valiantly to hold his ground. He then engaged in a fierce battle, pushing his car to the limit in a bid for the podium. Ultimately, he finished just shy of the top three in fourth place. Martin FOO, meanwhile, delivered a consistent performance, maintaining his starting position and navigating the treacherous conditions to finish ninth.
Race 3
The 45-minute endurance race for Race 3 of the weekend implemented a reversed grid start based on the top eight qualifiers , placing Martin FOO on the front row. From the start, FOO expertly defended his lead, setting a consistent pace and steadily extending his advantage. YANG Haoyu, starting from P8, demonstrated impressive pace, carving his way up to fourth.
With both Teamwork Motorsport cars running strongly at the front, the team looked poised for a dominant result. Following the mandatory pit stops, FOO emerged still in the lead, with YANG close behind, setting the stage for a Teamwork 1-2 finish.
Ultimately, MARTIN FOO drove flawlessly to secure his maiden victory in the series. However, despite a strong performance, YANG Haoyu was unfortunately handed a time penalty as the result of a pit stop infringement by the narrowest of margins, relegating him to eleventh.
Despite the setback, Teamwork Motorsport remains a strong third in the championship standings. MARTIN FOO’s breakthrough win and YANG Haoyu’s pace provide significant momentum heading into the Geely Super Cup PRO season finale. The team will leverage the experience gained at Ningbo as they push for a strong finish to the 2025 season at Bira, Thailand.
