Round5&6 of HTCC started were hosted in the Guangdong Circuit. #31 AlexHUI continued to pilot the CTCC-Oriented Citroen in the Roadsport Challenge. The CTCC Official Engine & Chassis Citroen were facing differentbreeds of race cars, with very different power and handling characteristics. Round 5 started in nice cool weather, however Alex HUI’s Citroen stalled at thestart. By the time the car restarted, HUI was already at the back pack. HUI patiently worked his way up the field, and went up to 5th place inlap 11. It was also at this point a huge crash near T1 caused by spoiledoil brought out the red flag. Race was cut short and HUI couldn’t recover more position, but the Teamwork driver was even moredetermined to do well in the next round.
AlexHUI started on 5th place in the action-packed Round 6. Safety car wasbrought out two times on the first and second last lap. Due to theCitroen horse power deficit against its rivals, every restart caused theCitroen to lose a couple positions. But HUI was able to recover thesepositions through out the 18 laps long race. Thanks to the superiorbraking and cornering characteristics of the Citroen, HUI reclaimed a lot oflost ground and crossed the finish line in 2nd place. HUI add, “Thanks the team forpreparing me a good, reliable car today. Also, my teammates, friends, andfans are all here to support me. When I saw them climbing up the fence asI crossed the finish line, I certainly felt the Teamwork spirit. Yeah, so it is a happy 2nd place for me!”
