In a fiercely competitive qualifying session, Martin FOO clinched 10th place for Car No. 11 with a personal best lap time of 2:08.937. Ronald HUI in No. 12 car made an impressive return to the Geely Super Cup after the Chengdu event, finishing strong in 12th place.

Race 13

Martin FOO made a strong start in Race 1 of the Ningbo event, quickly climbing to 6th position after the first lap. However, an incident at Turn 23 brought out the safety car, allowing FOO to close the gap with his competitors at front. In the final phase, he fiercely battled against the car behind him and crossed the line in 6th place, securing valuable points for Teamwork Motorsport.

Ronald HUI also showcased remarkable progress after starting from the back of the grid, gaining four positions right off the line. He maintained the momentum after the safety car period, staying firmly within the top 10 with an exceptional race pace. He finished the race P9 in the end, earning Car No. 12 a coveted front-row start for Race 2 thanks to the reverse grid regulation.

Race 14

Ronald HUI made a perfect start in Race 2 of the weekend, snatching the lead on the very first lap. The battle for the lead was intense, with HUI and the relentless challenger behind him locked in a nail-biting duel. With championship points on the line, HUI chose a strategic approach, opting for cautious style of driving as he aimed to secure a solid finish.

However, the race took a tumultuous turn as HUI endured multiple collisions from aggressive rivals, severely compromising his car’s performance. Despite the setbacks, which sent him spiraling down the ranks, HUI refused to surrender. He fought valiantly, ultimately crossing the finish line in 11th place, a testament to his resilience.

Meanwhile, Martin FOO faced his own challenges on Saturday afternoon. Starting from 5th, he quickly found himself slipping back due to mechanical issues that plagued his performance. Although he languished in 14th position when the halfway mark arrived, he summoned every ounce of determination and skill to take 9th in the final stage following post-race penalties, clinching a hard-fought top 10 finish.

Race 15

As the green flag waved for the endurance race of the weekend with scorching track temperatures, sixteen cars thundered across the start line, and from 9th place, Martin FOO executed a flawless launch, surging ahead to gain five positions by the end of the first lap. He held a strong performance throughout the race and finished in 5th place, the best result for Hong Kong drivers in this endurance race and earning crucial championship points. The outstanding performance at Ningbo fueled his determination to chase the overall podium in the remaining races of 2024 season.

For Ronald HUI, Sunday was a test of resilience. His race start was promising, as he sought opportunities to overtake. But disaster struck in Turn 2 when car No. 12 was caught in an accident, damaging the left drive shaft. HUI reported the issue to his team and fought valiantly to return to the pit box. Emerging from the back of the lap chart, HUI faced daunting odds but still managed to claw his way up, gaining two precious positions. He crossed the finish line in 13th, embodying the spirit of perseverance.

It was a challenging weekend for Teamwork Motorsport at Ningbo, with both FOO and HUI had chances to vie for podium finishes. Yet, their relentless efforts showcased the team’s exceptional competitiveness. The No. 12 and No. 11 cars are currently ranked 8th and 10th in the standings respectively, keeping Teamwork Motorsport firmly in fifth place in the Teams’ Championship.

As Geely Super Cup 2024 season finale is set to ignite excitement from September 27-29 at the Zhuzhou International Circuit, Teamwork Motorsport gears up to unleash its full potential, determined to fight for better positions.
