Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport Triumphs in Ordos with Double Victories and Podium Sweep

The TCR China Championship kicked off the second half of the 2025 season at the Ordos International Circuit from August 8th to 10th, marking the fourth round of the campaign. Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport delivered a dominant performance in Inner Mongolia as the team completed the full podium sweep in both races, with ZHANG Zhi Qiang and David ZHU each taking a victory.

Qualifying

This round marked the first time the TCR China Championship raced in Ordos, making it essential for teams to familiarise themselves with the track and tackle the challenges posed by high altitude on the power.

Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport showcased excellent performance right from the qualifying sessions, where they locked out the front row, with David ZHU claiming pole position and ZHANG Zhi Qiang securing second place. Sunny WONG finished eighth, setting up a favourable position for the reversed-grid start in the second race.

Race 1

In the first race, ZHANG Zhi Qiang took the lead from the front row and quickly built a gap. David ZHU lost second place at the start but fought back to regain it. A Safety Car temporarily interrupted the race, but ZHANG maintained his lead. Sunny WONG advanced from the back to fourth, ultimately climbing to third in the final stages of Race 1.

All three Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport drivers made it onto the podium, with ZHANG Zhi Qiang taking the victory, David ZHU finishing second, and Sunny WONG claiming his first podium of the season with a third-place.

Race 2

Following the reversed-grid rules, Sunny WONG began in the front row, while ZHANG Zhi Qiang and David ZHU started from ninth and tenth. WONG maintained his lead at the start, while ZHU surged ahead with a fierce effort. The race was briefly interrupted by a Safety Car due to an accident. Once resumed, ZHU found his rhythm and climbed into the top three, eventually swapping positions with WONG to take the lead. ZHANG also advanced after some determined driving.

In a spectacular finish, Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport swept the podium once again, with ZHU claiming victory, ZHANG finishing second, and WONG taking third. This race also marked Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport’s 100th podium in TCR China Championship since 2020. The Lynk & Co 03 TCR remains firmly in first place in the Model Cup standings.

Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport’s visit to Ordos concluded with a remarkable result. With a victory apiece, ZHANG Zhi Qiang and David ZHU are up to the top 2 of the Drivers’ Championship standings. The next stop for TCR China will be back at the Shanghai International Circuit from September 19th to 21st. It is eagerly anticipated that the team will continue its success and pursue even greater achievements!
