Double TCR China Championship Titles Crowned by Teamwork Motorsport at Zhuzhou

The TCR China Championship drew its 2025 campaign to a close at Hunan International Circuit on October 31 to November 2, with Teamwork Motorsport taking the spotlight by securing a pair of prestigious honors. The squad took home both the AM Drivers’ Championship and the Club Cup, delivering a dominant performance that capped off its 2025 season on a flawless high note.

Qualifying

Ahead of the Zhuzhou round, Paul POON held the upper hand in the AM Drivers’ Championship race, sitting atop the standings and in prime position to chase the title. Qualifying saw him deliver a breakthrough performance, clocking a lap time that was enough to secure second place overall and the undisputed Pole in the AM Class. His teammate LI Guanghua also held his own, finishing eighth to secure a second-row starting spot for Race 2.

Race 1

Based on the points after qualifying, Paul POON only needed to score one more point in the race to be crowned AM Class champion. However, despite his excellent performance in the early stages of Race 1, he retired due to an incident with the opponent in different class, causing the championship battle to take another turn.

LI Guanghua also faced challenges in this round. He engaged in exciting battles with opponents and worked with the team to support his teammate, but unfortunately failed to finish the race due to an accident.

Race 2

After navigating the challenges of the first race, Teamwork Motorsport entered the season finale with a more stable strategy. Rain ahead of Zhuzhou’s second race raised the bar for the team’s strategic decision-making.

Paul POON turned in a steady performance amid the incident-filled race, finishing the race and locking down the AM Class championship. LI Guanghua, though facing challenges once more, still delivered an impressive, standout performance throughout the weekend.

With the Zhuzhou round in the rearview, the 2025 TCR China Championship season officially wrapped up, ending in historic fashion for Teamwork Motorsport. Paul POON took home the AM Drivers’ Championship and Teamwork Motorsport secured the Club Cup.

The squad’s trophy-laden haul put the finishing touch on a triumphant 2025 campaign, closing the season in perfect style. As this chapter ends, the team’s journey presses on and excitement runs high for Teamwork Motorsport to pursue even more glory in the seasons ahead.
