Zhuzhou Triumphant Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport Secures Multiple Titles in 2025 TCR China Championship

The TCR China Championship wrapped up the 2025 season at the newly-renamed Hunan International Circuit at Zhuzhou. Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport achieved a resounding success, capping off a stellar campaign with three major championship titles—Drivers’ Championship, Teams’ Championship and Model Championship, marking a perfect end to the 2025 season.

Qualifying

Three regular drivers of Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport continued their chase for the ultimate glory. Having already secured the Teams’ Championship title with a significant advantage, the battle for the Drivers’ Championship between David ZHU and ZHANG Zhi Qiang became the focal point of the championship. Heading into the season finale, ZHU led ZHANG by 24 points, with both drivers aiming for the crown.

In the qualifying session, Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport showcased its strength once again. ZHANG Zhi Qiang secured pole position with the fastest lap time of 1:44,626, David ZHU took third, and Sunny WONG finished fifth.

Race 1

Race 1 of the finale unfolded in light autumn rain, with the slippery track boosting competition variables. ZHANG Zhi Qiang delivered consistent form, leading from start to finish for a Pole-to-Win victory. The narrowed gap between him and the championship leader David ZHU kept the title fight alive for Sunday’s final race.

David ZHU and Sunny WONG climbed through the field to finish second and third respectively, securing a podium sweep for Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport in Race 1.

Race 2

Before the decisive season finale on Sunday, rain hit Zhuzhou, creating a mixed dry-wet track where tyre selection became a pivotal strategic call. Pre-race standings set a tense backdrop: David ZHU needed just a top-four finish to claim the title, while ZHANG Zhi Qiang had to win to stay in contention.

Complex conditions sparked frequent incidents, with multiple Safety Car deployments reshaping the race. ZHANG Zhi Qiang attacked fiercely at the start, seizing the lead and making his points temporarily surpassing David ZHU. David ZHU, hampered by Safety Car periods and tyre strategy, was stuck in seventh late on, seeming to lose title hope.

With one lap left after the fourth and final Safety Car period, ZHANG Zhi Qiang held steady to take the race victory. David ZHU launched a dramatic final charge, overtaking multiple cars to finish third and clinch the Drivers’ Championship in the end! Sunny WONG added a solid sixth-place finish. The squad’s stellar efforts sealed Drivers’ , Teams’ and Model Championships in the 2025 TCR China Championship, capping a trophy-laden campaign.

With the 2025 TCR China Championship now in the books, Lynk & Co Teamwork Motorsport signs off on a landmark season defined by grit, strategy and unrivalled success. As the team basks in the glory of this historic Triple Crown, the entire squad sets its sights on the future as they are poised to chase more milestones and write new chapters of racing glory in seasons to come.
