Dual Stars Shine at Zhuzhou as Teamwork Motorsport Back on Podium in Geely Super Cup PRO

The 2025 Geely Super Cup PRO reignited at Zhuzhou International Circuit last weekend, kicking off the third round of the season. In this mid-season pivotal showdown, both drivers from Teamwork Motorsport, YANG Haoyu and Martin FOO, secured podium finishes in separate rounds, earning crucial points for the team.

Qualifying

The race weekend began at Zhuzhou amid sweltering heat. Teamwork’s drivers delivered standout performances right from the qualifying session. Martin FOO, leveraging his extensive racing experience at Zhuzhou, steadily picked up pace and clocked a time of 2:01.165 on the fifth lap to claim third place overall. Meanwhile, YANG Haoyu pushed aggressively on the track, finishing eighth with a time of 2:01.662 — just a hair’s breadth behind the drivers ahead under the sun-scorched conditions.

Race 1

Race 1 of the weekend got underway on Saturday morning. YANG Haoyu navigated through the chaotic start to find a clear path forward, battling fiercely with rivals in close battles. After serving a penalty, he ultimately claimed seventh place, improving his position from the start. Martin FOO faced challenges early on, was forced to retire early, but the team quickly regrouped to focus on preparing for the next race.

Race 2

Race 2 kicked off in a challenging 36-degree Celsius heat. Starting from the second row, Martin FOO made a lightning-quick getaway, surging to second place briefly. With a steady performance, he smoothly reclaimed second place and held onto it until the chequered flag, securing the runner-up spot and marking his first podium finish of the season!

YANG Haoyu started from eighth, gained positions to climb to sixth overall. He defended his position resolutely throughout the race and, in a bid to advance further in the closing stages, engaged in intense battles with rivals. He ultimately finished sixth.

Race 3

The final race in Zhuzhou was a grueling 45-minute endurance battle. YANG Haoyu started from pole position, held onto first place after the start, then set the fastest lap time to build a lead and dominate the early stages. Although a subsequent accident triggered the Safety Car, YANG maintained his rhythm, pushed hard after the restart, and timed his pit stop perfectly as the window opened.

Leading the pack, YANG came under intense pressure from behind but engaged in a series of intense but sportsmanlike battles with rivals. In the end, YANG conquered both speed and endurance tests in the extreme heat, crossing the line in second place to claim the round’s runner-up trophy.

Martin FOO started from sixth, surged into the front pack at the start, and impressed with his relentless battles to climb the rankings. Unfortunately, an unexpected tyre puncture cut short his stellar performance later in the race.

At the Zhuzhou showdown, Teamwork Motorsport stood on the podium twice — Martin FOO achieved a career breakthrough, while YANG Haoyu once again showcased extraordinary skill. We look forward to our drivers achieving even greater success in the next round of the Geely Super Cup PRO at Chengdu Tianfu International Circuit on September 5th to 7th.
