New Wheels, New Breakthroughs | Teamwork Pays Off for Teamwork Motorsport at TCR Champions League SHGP

From April 25 to 26, the TCR Champions League SHGP roared into action at the Shanghai International Circuit. Teamwork Motorsport kicked off their new season with the brand-new Lynk & Co 03+ TCR race cars. Drivers Paul Poon, Richard Li, and Martin Foo pushed the new machinery to its limits, delivering a breakthrough performance through steady execution in a fiercely competitive field.

During the qualifying session, Paul Poon quickly found his rhythm. He piloted the new Lynk & Co 03+ TCR to third place overall, securing a prime starting position on the grid.

In Race 1, the team focused on maintaining a steady rhythm amidst high-intensity offensive and defensive battles. Richard Li managed a stable pace to finish 9th overall. Paul Poon followed closely behind, crossing the line in 11th while Martin Foo gave it his all to secure a 12th place finish. This resilient start provided a solid foundation for the challenges to come.

The second race marked the highlight of the weekend for Teamwork Motorsport. Starting from pole position, Richard Li weathered multiple rounds of intense pressure to finish 3rd overall, marking his first-ever overall podium in 2026 season since promoted to the PRO class. Martin Foo delivered equally exhilarating results, charging from 17th on the grid to finish 8th overall. Meanwhile, Paul Poon secured 9th. Against world-class competition, all three drivers proved their mettle with rock-solid performances. Thanks to this collective effort, Teamwork Motorsport claimed the Club Cup Team Championship.

The success didn’t come easily. After the race, Richard Li admitted the weekend was grueling: “We struggled with the new car’s setup and couldn’t find the right feel initially. The entire team worked overtime every day, and we only found a balanced setup by Sunday.”

He noted that while the process was exhausting for both the drivers and the crew, the results showed they were moving steadily in the right direction.

From a strong qualifying start to the successful adaptation of the new Lynk & Co 03+ TCR, Teamwork Motorsport proved their resilience and depth in Shanghai. The potential of the new car is beginning to shine, mirrored by the visible growth of the drivers. From Richard Li’s overall podium and Martin Foo’s charge up the field to Paul Poon’s P3 qualifying result—every breakthrough was forged through late nights and relentless trial. This success doesn’t just belong to the drivers; it belongs to every member of the crew who labored behind the scenes to turn the tide.

With the Shanghai round successfully concluded, Teamwork Motorsport now sets its sights on Ningbo, ready to go all out for the next challenge.
