Championship leaders ready for title fight with new upgrades

The TCR China Touring Car Championship resumes next weekend after a 15-week break since the first round at Zhuhai, where Teamwork Motorsport drivers Alex Hui and Sunny Wong left with the points lead after a successful weekend.

The second round of the championship takes place at the Ningbo International Speedpark, one of China's newest permanent racing circuits, which was opened in October last year.

Hui and Wong are ready for the challenge after a few opportunities to both test and upgrade the team's Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR, which is now running to the latest 2018 specification.

Sunny Wong said:

“Between these first races there has been a long break, but I've kept busy, also also racing in the Macau Touring Car Series and with a few bits of testing in between so my racing sense should still be fresh.

“I'm also really looking forward to the race. I like the Ningbo circuit a lot. We did well there last year and hopefully this year we will do even better. We'll carry some success ballast after our strong results from Round 1, but hopefully it won't affect our single lap times too much.”

The calendar for the remaining rounds of the TCR China championship have been revised, with this set to be the programme for the remainder of the year:
