The TCR China Series season finale took place at Guangdong 29-30 December 2017 and it proved to be another impressive weekend for Teamwork Motorsport with another victory and multiple podium positions to cap off a very strong campaign.
Just weeks after the thrill of the Macau GP, Teamwork Motorsport is back in action in the TCR China Finale. In addition, the team will also enter the last round of the 12hrs Super Endurance Championship with the VW Golf TCR. Both races will take place at Teamwork’s home base in the Guangdong International Circuit, China.
Teamwork’s Paul Poon piloted his Suncity Group RCZ to his third consecutive podium in the CTM Macau Touring Car 1.6T Class.
The fourth round of TCR China started off on a positive note for Teamwork Motorsport this weekend (28-29 October) as the series travelled to Ningbo International Speedpark with the team finding good setups for their GRANTT supported VW Golf TCRs. However, qualifying and the races themselves proved to be disappointing on this occasion, despite some strong results.
Jean-Karl Vernay joined Teamwork Motorsport this weekend (7-8 October) as the TCR China series travelled to the new tight and twisty Zhejiang Circuit for the first time and quite a weekend it proved to be with the TCR International star recording a debut victory.
After a five weeks break, Teamwork returns to round 3 of the TCR China series with the Grantt supported Golf TCRs at the new Zhejiang Circuit. This new 3.2-kilometer FIA-certified Grade 2 circuit features 16 corners with 22 meters of elevation. With the small & twisty layout, the team is confident that the Golf TCR will adapt to this circuit better than the Shanghai F1 circuit in the previous two rounds.
The brand new TCR China series kicked off in Shanghai International Circuit under extreme heat, and Teamwork Motorsport showed their pace by bringing home five podium trophies among its three cars and six drivers.
In the past weekend, Teamwork Suncity Trio, Paul Poon and Samson Fung each claimed a 2nd in both rounds, while Alex Fung finished in 4th and 5th. Each driver earned valuable qualification points for November’s Macau GP.
